Baton Rouge Magnet High School

Project consisted of complete renovation and addition to historic Baton Rouge Magnet High School, originally constructed in 1926. The building is approx. 300K SF and is a Baton Rouge landmark listed on the National Historic Registry. Unique project challenges included incorporating new finishes with preservation of historic details and working alongside numerous other trades through multiple phases and general contractor’s escalated schedule. Site limitations and multiple entities being involved with decision making process presented their own challenges as well. Several intricate VCT patterns were specified throughout corridors and student dining. Bigelow Places and Spaces carpet collection was installed throughout Administration, Theater, Library and Media Center. Porcelain wall tile was used at corridors and in restrooms. Flexco Extra Heavy Duty stair treads were incorporated into numerous original stair wells at all 3 levels of building.
